DARS manages and maintains a total of 606 km of motorways and expressways, 161 km of access roads and 27 km of rest areas.
Vehicles up to 3.5 tIn accordance with the Act Amending Public Roads Act, passed by the National Assembly of the RS at the end of April 2008 and entered into force on 10 May 2008, the use of vignettes has been mandatory for motor vehicles with the maximum permissible weight up to 3.500 kg (the existing first and second toll-rate category) on motorways and expressways in the Republic of Slovenia since 1 July 2008.
Vignette tolling system was introduced with the aim of improving traffic flow and reducing vehicle emissions.
Vehicles above 3.5 tThere are a number of toll payment options for vehicles with the maximum permissible weight over 3.500 kg, regardless of the maximum permissible weight of trailers. Toll can be paid at each passing of a toll station, withpayment cards or cash. For toll payment you can also use a DARS Card, DARS Card Transporter and ABC tag in the pre-payment or post-payment mode.
An exception is toll payment for the Karavanke tunnel, where DARS card can be used also for toll payment for vehicles with the maximum permissible weight up to 3.500 kg.
Toll for the use of toll roads for vehicles with the maximum permissible weight over 3.5 tones in the closed tolling system is paid at the exit toll station, and in the open tolling system at the frontal entry/exit toll station.
